Ian has 25 year’s local government experience covering all aspects of civic and democratic engagement. With experience in Strategic & Local Planning, Highways & Transport, Environment, Finance and Local Government HR including senior appointments and team restructuring, Ian has a wealth of in-depth knowledge of the way local and strategic area government works. With his government experience Ian acts as a consultant on planning matters and Planning Law both locally and nationally.
Ian has also worked extensively internationally on both a diplomatic and commercial basis particularly in the People’s Republic of China and South Korea in areas of Education, Manufacturing and New Technology.
Additionally, Ian has liaised with African representatives to develop business with Eastern Europe as well as being involved in property ventures in Romania.
As a consultant to Audley Chaucer, Ian brings a wealth of political knowledge to the firm including extensive local, national and international strategic planning.
Ian worked extensively in bringing international sports teams for pre-training to facilities in the UK, particularly Surrey, for the London 2012 Olympics. Liaising with sports directors and diplomats from countries as diverse as the Cayman Islands, Mongolia, Singapore and China, Ian assisted in boosting the economy by bringing teams to UK training camps including the Chinese Olympic swimming team.
Within the world of culture Ian arranged for a magnificent exhibition of china and art pottery from China’s province of Zibo in Woking, Surrey, that proved successful in cementing relations between the two areas.
