Dennis Hester is a highly experienced American trial lawyer who represents individuals and businesses in cross-border investigations by U.S. authorities. Throughout his 15-year legal career, he has represented hundreds of individuals in U.S. federal investigations, won significantly reduced sentences, obtained acquittals at trial, assisted non-U.S. citizens with extradition and repatriation to their home countries, and absolved individuals accused of fraud in administrative and civil proceedings.
He was formerly an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Houston, Texas, where he assisted many non-U.S. citizens to mitigate and absolve harm to their freedom and livelihood from U.S. prosecutions. Before joining the federal public defender’s office, Dennis spent nine years as a trial and appellate attorney at a law firm in Houston specializing in white-collar criminal defence. He represented UK citizens in cross-border investigations, assisted the firm in numerous trials and sentencings throughout the United States, and represented individuals in civil and administrative proceedings arising from allegations of fraud before the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the Texas Medical Board. Dennis began his legal career as a briefing attorney for a United States District Judge with a large jurisdiction along the United States-Mexico border. He assisted the Court with dozens of trials and drafted and researched hundreds of judicial orders.
Dennis is an honours graduate of Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served on Law Review and in the University’s Immigration Law Clinic. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in numerous federal courts in the United States. He is also a registered foreign lawyer in the UK.
Dennis relocated to London in 2023, and has brought his unique perspective and skill set to representing businesses and individuals in the United Kingdom and Europe facing U.S. criminal prosecutions and investigations.
