Rory is a senior corporate solicitor with over 25 years’ experience advising businesses. Educated as a lawyer at Downing College, Cambridge University, and qualified with Herbert Smith (now Herbert Smith Freehills), Rory also holds Masters qualifications in Insurance Law, Employment Law and International Tax Law.
He has extensive experience across contentious and non-contentious commercial advisory work, including business acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, and investment transactions, particularly in the technology, gambling, insurance, and commodity sectors. His work spans the full deal cycle, from structuring and negotiation through to execution and dispute resolution.
Rory’s litigation experience includes technology and insurance related disputes, professional solicitors negligence, international trade, property, and insolvency matters. He has appeared frequently in the Royal Courts of Justice and has advised corporates, directors, investors and entrepreneurs alike.
Rory is also a former England international rugby player, Cambridge Blue in rugby, cricket, and athletics, and continues to be active in charitable work for organisations supporting children with special needs, including the Lord’s Taverners, Autistica and the England Legends Charities.
