The housing market in Britain has slowed down significantly over the last two years, in the run up to the original Brexit deadline in March.
However, recently there appears to have been an upturn, as figures revealed that the number of mortgages approved in April was the highest in the past two years.
The trade association UK Finance revealed that lenders approved 42,989 mortgages in April 2019, which is 11.5% more than the previous year, representing the highest annual increase since March 2016.
Economists have commented that the extension of the original Brexit deadline may have benefited the housing market.
